Alfonsina Trucco is the winner of the fifth edition of the Genoa Pesto World Championship. The World Champion 2014 is 87 years old, lives in Montoggio near Genoa, and prepares Pesto using an old family mortar. She passed the first selection (from 100 competitors to 10 finalists) and then won against the other nine finalists. At the second place Angelo Vanagolli and third Candida Grosso.

Extraordinary preliminary competition in Prague, at the beautiful Hotel Boscolo. The enthusiasm of the participants, many of which representatives of the institutions, journalists and entrepreneurs, was great as well as Pesto made by them. Igor Holub, president of Slow Food Czech Republic, is the winner selected by a highly qualified jury.

E’ Francesco Lovisatti il vincitore dell’eliminatoria che si è tenuta il 23 novembre a Villa Queirolo di Rapallo.
Una gara partecipata che ha confermato, ancora una volta, quanto la cultura del Pesto al mortaio si stia sempre più diffondendo.  Al secondo posto si attesta Marco Fucci e Walter Perrone al terzo.  
L’eliminatoria è stata organizzata in collaborazione con il Gruppo Micologico E. Grasso di Rapallo nell’ambito della manifestazione 2° Memorial Mario Valle “Alla scoperta del Tartufo’’.


ABCDOrientamentoDavid Molinari,  seventeen year old, from Istituto Alberghiero Marco Polo, won in the preliminary competition on Thursday, Nov. 6, at the "Olimpiadi liguri dei mestieri"  on the occasion of “ABCD+Orientamenti” at Fiera di Genova.
A great thrill for all young participants, who made a great pesto, worked well and with great skill. Chooseing the best was a daunting task for the jury composed by  Carmelo Infantini (Confesercenti), Maurizio Valle and the young Matteo Ferro  (Associazione dei Palatifini)

The young Axel Beryskauy from Norway won the preliminary competition that was held Saturday, July 19 at Moneglia.

The warm and sparkling atmosphere, the beautiful surroundings and the large participation made it even more exciting for the ten competitors from Norway, Germany, Lombardy, Puglia and of course Moneglia and Genoa. In second place Frevel Sandra from Germany and third Luciano Simon, who defended the flag of Moneglia.
